Healthcare options - August 2019 Bank Holiday

Different Tablets

Thirteen Pharmacies are set to open across West Cheshire on Bank Holiday Monday (August 26th 2019).

Pharmacists are best-placed to advise on minor health concerns such as coughs, colds, aches and pains.

They can also help you decide whether you need to see a medical health professional. Most local pharmacies also have consultation rooms to enable private conversations.

Dr Chris Ritchieson, the chair of NHS West Cheshire Clinical Commissioning Group, said: “It is vital that a wide range of healthcare options are available for people in West Cheshire all year round – including on Bank Holidays.

“It is also worth remembering that pharmacists are expert healthcare professionals who can provide specialist advice for a wide range of health conditions and you don’t need to book an appointment to see them.”

All West Cheshire GP practices are due to close on Bank Holiday Monday, however patients will continue to be able to access Extended Hours appointments for routine care from 9am-2pm.

To book an appointment call 0300 123 7743 or speak to your GP practice receptionist. The phone line is operational from 8am to 8pm, seven days a week.

If you think your issue is more urgent, please call NHS 111.
